Cat of The Week

July 13, 2026

Hi, I’m Wybie! I’m estimated to be around 4 years old, and I am ready to start the next chapter in my story. A couple of months ago, I was trapped by a very nice lady doing TNR. When she took me to the vet, we discovered I have FIV. So… that was the end of the outside life for me. At first, I was not too thrilled with the idea, but now I’m loving life! Why didn’t anyone tell me that inside cats have it made! I’ve discovered I love affection, especially check scratches and belly rubs. I’m at my most at peace lounging in a cat condo or napping on a cozy perch. I’m super interested in being friends with other cats, but I will retreat immediately if they get sassy. I don’t mind the presence of my foster dog sibling, and I’m very curious about them. I’ve been a stray cat, now I’m a loved foster cat, but I’m ready to be someone’s adored fur baby.

This pet is currently in a foster home. You will need an approved application and an appointment to meet him.

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, much like AIDS in humans. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. FIV+ and cat-friendly non-FIV cats can safely live together in the same household. Because the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, casual indoor contact like sharing food, water, or grooming does not spread the virus.

Please call the shelter at 810-657-8962 for more information. Please email the shelter at societypets@att.net or visit us at sanilaccountyhumanesociety.org for an application.

WE DO NOT DNA TEST – ALL OF OUR PETS ARE MIXED BREEDS AND WILL LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH!

The adoption fee for this cat is $50.00
