Meet Luna and Lola. They are bonded sisters who are looking for a loving family. They are great with kids and have lived with cats and other dogs. A meet and greet with any current dogs is required.
Luna is a 7 year old black lab/shepherd mix. She is incredibly loving and affectionate. Luna loves attention and will happily lay in your lap if allowed. Despite her size, she is truly a big lap dog. Luna is currently 87 pounds but needs to lose some weight.
Lola is a 6 year old Husky, Border Collie, and Australian Shepherd mix. She is a sweet girl with a BIG personality. Like her sister, she loves attention but is more independent. Lola suffers from separation anxiety when she is away from Luna. Together they do great. Lola is around 61 pounds.

Please call the shelter at 810-657-8962 for more information. Please email the shelter at societypets@att.net or visit us at sanilaccountyhumanesociety.org for an application.

WE DO NOT DNA TEST – ALL OF OUR PETS ARE MIXED BREEDS AND WILL LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH!

The adoption fee for both dogs is $250. They must go home together.

Star is a sweet 3-year-old girl who is looking for her furever home. She is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Star does well with kids who are taller than her (little ones make her nervous). She loves people but, like a typical shepherd, she takes a moment to be comfortable with people. She may take a second to warm up but once she does she loves HARD. Star is looking for a family who is experienced with German Shepherds and their quirks.
Star would prefer to be an only child because that is what she is used to. She may do well with the right laidback dog. We do not know how she is with cats.

Please call the shelter at 810-657-8962 for more information. Please email the shelter at societypets@att.net or visit us at sanilaccountyhumanesociety.org for an application.

Cat of The Week

March 3, 2025

Hello! Dorian GrayCat here! I am a fun-loving 1-year-old boy who loves catnip (it makes me fast), butt scratches, playtime, and a cozy bed. I am looking for a family who wants to love an amazing little guy.

Since Dorian is FIV positive, ideally, he is looking for a home where he is the only cat, or there are other FIV cats. FIV cats can live with non-FIV cats in a calm household. FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds (bad fights).

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, much like AIDS in humans. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans.

Shadow and Shingle are 10.5 year old bonded brothers who are looking for a new adventure. Their family moved into a condo out of state and couldn’t bring them with them. They are sweet boys who love snacks (their favorite being boiled eggs), butt scratches and being with people. Shadow is happy-go-lucky and is always ready to meet new friends. Shingle is more of a shy introvert and takes a moment to warm up to new people.

They are not used to other animals and would do best as the only pets in the home.

Please contact the shelter at 810-657-8962 for more information. Email us at societypets@att.net or visit us at sanilaccountyhumanesociety.org for an application to adopt. All our dogs are fixed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, treated for fleas, micro-chipped, tested for heartworm and placed on a heart worm and flea preventative.

WE DO NOT DNA TEST – ALL OF OUR PETS ARE MIXED BREEDS AND WILL LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH!

The adoption fee for both dogs is $170. They must go home together.
